Located in Ine, 16 km from Manai Shrine and 16 km from Motoise Kono Shrine, 海蔵寺 宿坊 櫻海 provides air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. Host is kindness and supportiveness mind.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, 祇園の宿 杏花 is located in Kyoto, 300 metres from Gion Shijo Station and 600 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto. Cannot recommend Gion Kyoka enough. Actually, I'd prefer to give a negative review to prevent everyone from booking this lovely ryokan in the most amazing location in Gion Kyoto. Their team went above and beyond to make arrangements for our party at temples like Saiho-ji. Thank you Miyata-san and the rest of your staff for making our stay exceptional. I hope to visit again soon.

Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. Provides accommodation located 600 metres from the centre of Kyoto and offers an open-air bath and a shared lounge. Fantastic service from start to finish. From the check in process, to the check out, the staff always made sure you were comfortable and had what you needed. The location is easy to get to and the rooms themselves are stunning. A big selling point of course was the private bath, but a pleasant surprise was their restaurant. My booking included breakfast and a Wagyu course dinner and both were delicious and very satisfying. For a one night splurge, I highly recommend this hotel.

Located within less than 1 km of Gion Shijo Station and a 15-minute walk of Samurai Kembu Kyoto, Ishibekoji Muan provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Kyoto. We tried the Japanese and Westerm breakfasts. Both were lovely. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are beautiful and clean. The location is perfect … and quiet!

Set less than 1 km from Gion Shijo Station, Gion Oyado Kikutani offers 3-star accommodation in Kyoto and features a garden. Room was spacious and gives a Ryokan-esque feel. Great bath area with alot of amenities. Very clean inside and outside. Location is close to points of interest, such as the Kiyomizudera temple. Great and accomodating hosts, Taku and the rest of the team were very helpful and friendly. Lastly, breakfast bentos were delicious.

In the Sakyo Ward district of Kyoto, close to Heian Shrine, 明和荘Mei Wa Inn features a garden and a washing machine. The tatami room is very spacious and clean and we had the whole 1F by ourselves. Amenities are very complete with washing machine, fridge, microwave and a small kitchen. Privacy is at its best. Location wise is great as nearby has a few bus stops which makes traveling easy. The host is extremely helpful and effective in terms of communication. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely be back should we visit Kyoto again
